Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Cutting Directions:

    • Fabric 1: Cut 9 squares of 4 1/2″ and 8 half square triangles (HST) of 2″ finished.
    • Fabric 2: Cut 16 squares of 4 1/2″, 8 squares of 2 1/2″, and 104 HSTs of 2″ finished.
    • Fabric 3: Cut 24 squares of 4 1/2″.
    • Fabric 4: Cut 16 squares of 2 1/2″, 96 HSTs of 2″ finished, and 4 strips of 2 1/2″ across the width of fabric (WOF) for binding.
  2. Sewing Directions:

    • Sew eight Fabric 1 and Fabric 2 HSTs together. Press seams toward the darker fabric.
    • Sew 96 Fabric 2 and Fabric 4 HSTs together. Press seams toward the darker fabric.
    • Sew one Fabric 2 and three Fabric 4 squares together to make a 4-Patch unit. Make four.
    • Follow similar steps to sew combined HSTs and create various quilt blocks as per the pattern.
  3. Assembling the Quilt:

    • Lay out and sew the quilt blocks together as shown in the pattern.
    • Sew the pieced border strips to the sides and top/bottom of the quilt center.
